The opportunity

As a Tax Services Manager, you will be part of our Financial Services practice. This position offers excellent opportunities for learning and career advancement for the right candidate.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you will participate in and supervise multiple challenging tax consulting engagements and contribute to the delivery of innovative tax compliance support for our diverse clients.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Leading large and medium-sized engagements.
  • Planning and organizing teams for tax return preparation.
  • Conducting tax research and advising on planning opportunities, compliance strategies, and issues.
  • Reviewing junior staff work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Becoming part of the tax engagement team servicing clients’ planning and compliance needs.
  • Collaborating on tax technical interpretation work for clients.
  • Establishing client relationships and understanding their business.
  • Staying updated on trends, new developments, and tax authority decisions, and applying them to moderately complex situations.
  • Identifying opportunities for tax planning and special services.
  • Supporting the development and coaching of tax professionals and junior staff.
  • Contributing to team objectives.

Minimum qualifications

  • Professional accounting designation or law degree.
  • At least four years of Canadian corporate tax experience.
  • Ability to research and write using electronic tax tools.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with clients in the financial services sector is strongly preferred.
  • Mature, proactive, committed, highly motivated, and a team player.
