In this role, reporting to the Senior Manager - Tax, you will support global tax strategies to minimize worldwide taxes legally and ensure compliance with financial reporting obligations. You will support the income and sales tax compliance department, working with outside consultants and auditors as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Tax Entries/Remittances/Reconciliations/Audits
    • Support all activities related to tax planning and compliance, including cash repatriations, quarterly provisions, and monthly tax entries and remittances.
    • File corporate income, sales, and withholding tax returns for Sodexo Canada and subsidiaries.
    • Prepare tax account reconciliations, explain variances, and assist in forecasting and budgeting.
    • Assist in managing audits by Canadian tax authorities and year-end audits.
  2. Responsible for Tax Changes
    • Monitor and assist with implementing changes due to government tax policy, especially regarding sales taxes across federal and provincial levels.
  3. Education and Training
    • Support training to strengthen sales tax knowledge within business units and communicate impacts of tax changes.
    • Update the Canadian Sales Tax Manual as needed.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Business (degree); 4 years preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years tax experience in a multinational environment or public accounting.
  • Completion of CICA In-depth Tax program (Parts 1 & 2) is an asset.
  • CPA designation.
  • Research, compliance, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Taxprep, OneSource, SAP, and other databases.
  • Knowledge of international, domestic corporate income, and sales tax, especially in the MUSCH sector, is an asset.
  • In-depth GST/HST Program Part 1 is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and in teams, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual (French) is an asset.
