A leading technology services firm based in Ontario is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator Manager. This role involves directing the daily operations of systems and storage to ensure a reliable infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing technical teams and strong expertise in virtualization and cloud technologies. What you'll do
Plan, and direct daily operations, administration, maintenance, and support efforts of the Core Systems and Storage to ensure our client has a robust, scalable, reliable and efficient Infrastructure that supports its business. Leads, technically, a team that will participate in projects, installation and configuration. As well as support Systems and Storage service offerings, including BAU requests, platform currency and capacity planning. Oversees daily operations and monitoring of their co-location data centres, Systems and Storage, and Services.
Lead and manage a team of technical System Administrators. Prioritize and assign tasks to team members and ensure all the work assignment are being delivered with acceptable quality and meet SLA
Leads the daily operations, including BUA Service and Change Requests, Incident Investigation / Remediation, and Monitoring of Systems and Services of the Systems and Storage
Establish and manage Systems and Storage service offerings, ownership, and SLAs of services in conjunction with application owners. Including platform currency capacity planning
Participates and/or leads projects with development, applications, and operations teams to engineer, deploy, and support technical solutions
Participates in establishing and supports the enforcement of technology standards, processes and policies related to Systems and Storage for the service offerings
Provides technical infrastructure support and coordination for escalated incidents and problems from engineering and operations teams
Leads the team responsible for the daily operations and monitoring of their co-location data centres Systems and Storage
Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of hardware and software across the organization’s Systems and Storage
Participate in audits, as needed, producing necessary documentation, reports and explanations
Enforcement of data security, premises integrity and access procedures as per company security policy
Enforces and creates and maintains documentation related Systems and Storage for the service offerings, and best practices
Maintains good working knowledge of business application, current infrastructure and future trends
What you bring (Must-have...)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or a related field of study and/or 8+ years of equivalent IT working experience
Over 8 year in a senior technical/Lead position
At least 6 years of experience in designing/building/administration/monitoring Linux and/or Windows Servers
At least 4 years of experience in designing/building/administration/monitoring Virtualization/HCI Platform (VMware & Nutanix).
Extensive experience, design and build, with at least one of the following technologies Servers(Cisco UCS and/or IBM) and/or Storage (EMC and Netapp)
Experience in architecting solutions on a Cloud Platform (e.g. Microsoft Azure or AWS)
Experience in building and operating Container platforms using Openshift, Kubernetes, Dockers, etc.
At least 3 years of experience with scripting, automation, and orchestration technologies and languages like batch, PowerShell, VBScript, Ansible, Perl, Python, Puppet, Github, Openstack, etc.
At least 4 years of experience with at least one of the following technologies Windows Active Directory (users & computers, groups, OUs, GPOs), File (DFS, NFS, and CIFS), Exchange server/O365, Backup software, Clusters, Datacenter architecture, PKI, Single Sign On (ADFS, Okta, Ping, etc.), Databases, Citrix (XenApp, XenDesktop)
Experience monitoring, and performance tuning tools
Nice to have...
Experience with Server Hardware (Cisco UCS and/or IBM) and/or SAN and NAS hardware (EMC and Netapp)
Experience with Storage Networking (Native FC and FCOE)
Experience with Enterprise Wi-Fi, DDI, Web Proxy
Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, F5, Palo Alto Certifications
Experience in payment industry and/or PCI audit
