In support of the SickKids 2030 Clinical Research Strategy and the broader SickKids 2030 Strategy, the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is seeking a dynamic Manager of Strategic Projects. Reporting to the Executive Director of Clinical Research Transformation and working in close partnership with the Associate Chief of Clinical Research and the Director of Clinical Research Operations, this role is pivotal in advancing the transformation of clinical research at SickKids.

The Manager will lead the planning, execution, and close-out of select high-priority projects that are critical to the implementation of the Clinical Research (CR) 2030 Strategy. In addition to direct project leadership, the Manager will maintain a high-level view of the broader strategic project portfolio within OCR, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, identifying interdependencies, and supporting risk mitigation across initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong track record of execution in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. They will demonstrate the ability to balance long-term vision with short-term deliverables, and will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, complexity, and diversity of projects related to clinical research. A collaborative mindset is essential, as the role requires working across clinical and research domains, engaging with diverse teams including investigators, operational leaders, and external partners.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, outcome-focused, and brings experience in delivering high-impact initiatives in healthcare, or academic settings. Familiarity with clinical research operations, regulatory frameworks, and the principles of a Learning Health System will be considered strong assets.

Here Is What You'll Get To Do

  • Research & Benchmarking - the manager will conduct thorough self-directed research, benchmarking to identify best practices and opportunities that inform the development and implementation of CR strategic projects.

  • Lead the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) Process for OCR - facilitate the development, alignment and tracking of team annual and quarterly OKRs to ensure they reflect CR strategic priorities and drive measurable impact. Support others in project execution using the OKR framework, while using OKRs to execute on own projects, both at the strategic and operational level. Monitor progress throughout the cycle, coordinate regular check-in and facilitate retrospectives at the end of cycles to drive learning and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Performance Management and KPI Reporting - lead the implementation and ongoing management of performance management for CR; ensuring performance indicators (KPIs) are clearly defined, tracked and aligned with the SickKids 2030 CR Strategy. Monitoring performance, identify trends, surface insights and support data-driven decision making and maintain reporting regular mechanism to senior leadership
