Organizational Overview

Reactive Systems Architecture is an integration program that establishes standard patterns of integration for Mastercard Programs and between Mastercard and its customers. We offer a range of services in application integration via Messaging/Events. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Observability Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing our monitoring and observability efforts, ensuring the health and performance of our systems through proactive measures and self-healing autonomics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using open-source tools for monitoring and observability, along with a passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive observability strategies to monitor the performance and health of our systems.
  • Utilize open-source tools to create robust monitoring solutions that provide actionable insights.
  • Lead initiatives in self-healing autonomics to ensure system resilience and uptime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in monitoring and observability across the organization.
  • Analyze data and metrics to continuously improve system performance and reliability by automating manual processes and capacity planning.
  • Develop Machine Learning algorithms to integrate with AI systems that will consume and learn from our monitoring data.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in observability and autonomics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and observability using open source tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, DataDog).
  • Expertise in self-healing autonomics and automated system recovery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, NATS, and Flink.
  • Java
  • Familiarity with Chef or Ansible.
  • Machine Learning
