Manager, Site Performance
The Manager, Site Performance is responsible for improving underperforming sites within the sub-region. This role partners with regional leadership, site resources, and various teams in VAME to ensure sites operate according to standards and best practices, enhancing safety, cost efficiency, and LPF performance. The role involves leading and coaching in identifying and managing intervention activities (labor, technology, resources) to sustainably meet contractual availability obligations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all activities at underperforming sites adhere to defined standards, including proactive measures.
- Establish effective relationships with external customers, regional leadership, site resources, New Site Startup, and VAME Technology and Operations groups.
- Work with regional Director and Senior Operations Managers to identify candidates for site intervention and conduct due diligence to address areas of need.
- Manage activity schedules and measure site improvements in the Franchise Program, deploying resources as needed.
- Initiate Plan of the Day (POD) activities with Site Managers and key personnel to establish good daily operating habits and problem-solving skills.
- Report weekly on site performance and recovery progress to customers and regional leadership, based on milestones and metrics.
- Mentor and develop Site Managers, supporting employee development activities such as hiring, employee relations, CPDs, and performance reviews.
- Support the development of a safe, high-performing site culture.
- Lead or participate in daily turbine downtime calls with regional leaders.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent, or relevant wind industry experience.
- At least 8 years of supervisory experience, including managing employee performance documentation.
- Experience with Site Recovery or sustained performance improvement.
- Ability to lead operations with high delegation to team members.
- P&L management experience with advanced wind service skills.
- Knowledge of wind turbines and power plant operations; experience with similar industries or technologies is considered.
- Leadership experience with field technician teams.
- Experience managing safety programs including LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest, and Confined Space procedures.
- Ability to complete internal training and certifications such as Manager Core and Leader of Others.
- Competence in managing and auditing safety standards per Vestas and OSHA requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed, including working flexible schedules.
- Ability to obtain a passport.
- Proficiency in computer operations, data interpretation, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Experience with spare parts and inventory management.

Competencies:
- Reliable attendance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Willingness to travel 30-50% as requested.
- Ability to work at a desk and handle challenging tasks with a structured approach.
- Experience supervising and managing multiple levels of staff.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders at heights of 60-125 meters, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical activities such as walking, standing, and bending. Must be able to participate in training involving descent and safety procedures.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights over 100 meters, and in demanding weather conditions. Total weight with PPE must not exceed 300 lbs for safety reasons.
