Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the energy transition in Canada by managing CGF’s capital and leading investments focused on low carbon supply chains.
- Analyze critical minerals commodities and technologies to identify investment opportunities.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of investment opportunities against CGF mandate and impact criteria.
- Execute due diligence of investments in Canadian low carbon supply chain projects.
- Take ownership of diligence workstreams and be accountable for valuation and analytical work.
- Prepare investment recommendation papers for internal approval.
- Lead project management aspects of deal execution including budget planning and management of timelines.
- Collaborate with senior team members and provide oversight to junior team members.
- Monitor investments and assist in value creation and disposition of portfolio investments.
- Cultivate a network of contacts within the investment and energy transition industries.
Required Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the mining industry, investment banking, or corporate finance.
- Experience in impact investing is an asset but not required.
- Execution skills across business development and investment analysis on complex transactions.
Qualifications
- Relevant education in mining engineering, geology, metallurgy, or finance.
- Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.
- Good communication skills in English and French (or willingness to learn).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
