As a Risk Manager , you oversee and execute the risk management process. Using your strong facilitation and advisory skills, you will ensure that risks are identified, evaluated, treated, and monitored following corporate policies and procedures.
This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team :
- Be responsible and accountable for the risk management process and prepare risk management plans.
- Implement risk management activities in compliance with best business practices and corporate procedures.
- Utilize corporate systems and tools to support processes.
- Lead risk identification workshops with multiple levels of the organization.
- Conduct risk evaluation using both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods.
- Develop and deploy quantitative risk assessment approaches.
- Work with management and joint venture partners to develop and deploy mitigation strategies.
- Partner with project teams to monitor risk mitigations.
- Work closely with planners to understand delivery expectations, identify potential risks, and link risks to schedule activities.
- Liaise with the Engineering Risk and Insurance group to establish an insurable risk profile.
- Maintain project and program risk registers and ensure that risk profiles are accurate and current.
- Prepare internal and external progress reports to multiple stakeholders.
- Provide risk management training when required.
- Continuously look for improvements to the risk management process.
- Support the team when the project is peer-reviewed.
- Generate lessons learned reports relating to risks.
- Analyze risk and safety data to design process improvements.
- Provide feedback and mentorship / coaching to expand team member capabilities.

The ideal candidate :
- 6-10 years of experience in risk management in the Engineering and Construction industry, either as Project Manager, Contract Manager, Engineering Manager, Project Controls Manager, Procurement Manager, or Discipline Lead.
- Experience working with one or several software suites such as @Risk from Palisade, Active Risk Manager (ARM), Primavera risk analysis (PRA), Acumen Fuse, and / or Safran Risk.
- Previous experience working on a mega project (+ $1 billion, P3 projects).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Persuasive strength with the ability to motivate and lead.
- Excellent advisory skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
