Data Analytics & Reporting

Are you a problem solver with a consulting mindset, a passion for data, and a drive to deliver real business impact? BMO is looking for a Manager, Risk Data Innovation to join our team—someone who thrives in ambiguity, owns the conversation, and brings data-driven solutions to life. You'll join a dynamic, high-energy team that partners with market risk stakeholders to enable business growth through smart, scalable data solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this hybrid, business-facing role, you’ll own the full product lifecycle:

  1. Engage with cross-functional teams across trading desks and risk groups to understand their data needs.
  2. Analyze ambiguous requirements and identify opportunities for value-driven data products.
  3. Drive end-to-end solutions, from ideation and stakeholder alignment to production delivery.
  4. Deliver high-quality outputs such as APIs, derived data services, and data products that directly support trading and risk decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who can bridge the gap between business and technology, bringing both analytical rigor and strong interpersonal skills to the table.

Must-Haves:

  • 2-3 years of experience in financial services, ideally in a Capital Markets or Risk context.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, consulting-style approach.
  • Comfortable with Excel; Python knowledge is a plus (but not a blocker).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A sense of ownership; you’re someone who gets things done.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • CFA Level 1 or other finance-related coursework.
  • Prior experience delivering data products in a matrixed organization.

Work Model & Culture

Hybrid: 2–3 days/week in our downtown Toronto office.

If you’re looking for your next dream job, consider this one in BMO’s Enterprise Risk Group where every colleague helps protect and grow the bank by providing independent review and oversight of enterprise-wide risks, working together to maintain a risk management framework and fostering a strong risk culture.
