A Brief Overview

As the sole dedicated HR professional located in Bradford, Canada, you will be responsible for leading Human Resources initiatives across Canada. Serve as a strategic business partner and adviser to senior leaders. Drive talent strategies that align with organizational goals and build sustainable pipelines for leadership succession. Supports all team members in Canada, ranging from the regional leadership team to frontline team members (manufacturing and distribution centers) spread across multiple Provinces.

  • Partner with senior business leaders and Corporate HR to develop and execute workforce strategies that support business growth and operational excellence within the region
  • Lead talent identification, development, and retention programs tailored to local workforce dynamics. Create robust succession plans to strengthen leadership capability
  • Serve as a trusted adviser and coach to senior leaders on all people-related matters, including engagement, organizational design, workforce planning, and change management
  • Leverage strong knowledge of regional labor markets, employment laws, and cultural nuances to ensure compliant and effective HR programs
  • Collaborate closely with other functions to drive integrated business and people strategies
  • Implement initiatives that enhance organizational capability, leadership effectiveness, and employee engagement across all levels
  • Provide oversight on employee relations matters, ensure compliance with local labor regulations, and promote a positive and inclusive employee experience
  • Directly recruit for frontline positions; support recruiting efforts for desk-based positions in partnership with assigned Talent Acquisition Partner, ensuring diverse hiring in all areas. Lead onboarding efforts for all positions.
  • Manage all worker's WSIB claims with appropriate parties. Maintain and report required Ministry of labor metrics. Support safety programs such as hearing conservation and PPE.
  • Provide functional assistance in all HR areas including data management, policy implementation, and day to day matters while ensuring efficient business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Human Resources Management required or
  • Bachelors Business Administration/Management required or
  • Bachelors Related Field required or
  • 6+ Years progressive HR leadership experience, including strategic HR business partnering required
  • Demonstrated success leading HR in a manufacturing environment and supporting corporate functional teams required
  • Strong expertise in local employment law and talent market trends required
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications
  • Certified Professional (CP) - SHRM preferred

Soft Skills

  • Bilingual (French Canadian/English) required
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-border, matrix organization.
  • Proactive and adaptable leader with demonstrated success navigating both corporate and manufacturing environments

Additional Requirements

  • 20% Travel to sites within the assigned region and periodically to U.S. corporate offices
  • Position is required to be onsite during business hours in our Bradford, Canada location Monday-Friday

Physical Demands

This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.
