Position Overview

The Manager oversees the Tissue Program, providing leadership and support aligned with the mission and values of the Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN). Responsibilities include providing rotational on-call support, consultation, and advisory services as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Provincial Tissue Program related to donation, consent, tissue coordination, and recovery processes
  • Develop and implement frameworks, methodologies, and tools for strategic and operational plans
  • Review, develop, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and program initiatives
  • Develop performance reports and monitor performance metrics
  • Manage budgets and support overall financial management
  • Identify improvement opportunities and address challenges proactively
  • Hire staff and oversee scheduling
  • Manage an interdisciplinary team, including performance expectations and quality assurance
  • Coordinate with Labor Relations to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Participate in working groups and committees
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Health Canada, AATB, Eye Bank of Canada)
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety and Accessibility standards
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience in health sciences
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Current CTBS certification or ability to acquire within 3 years

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven leadership and policy development skills
  • Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Program development and project management expertise
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt to fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications

Location: Toronto, Ontario (hybrid; subject to change)

Employment Type: Temporary + (Fixed Term) Full time

Contract Length: 8 Months

Salary Band: Band 7
