Job Summary
The Manager of Production Control is responsible for mid- and long-term forecast activities related to NPI, production planning, inventory management, order fulfillment, packaging, and logistics. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines, providing support to internal partners and customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop and utilize data for real-time decision-making and strategic planning.
- Use problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Set goals and KPIs, monitor performance, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Act as the point of escalation for production planning issues, supporting resolution of scheduling, capacity, demand, or logistics challenges.
- Participate in weekly and monthly management meetings, preparing and presenting updates on delivery, production planning, and inventory management.
- Develop or update standard work processes to meet current business needs.
- Support organizational objectives, team morale, and interface with senior leadership on complex issues.
- Support daily Genba management activities.
- Apply lean manufacturing methodologies to promote continuous improvement and streamline processes, fostering cross-functional relationships.
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members while maintaining productivity and morale.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
- 5-10 years of managerial experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Deep knowledge of production planning, component ordering, forecasting, and customer demand.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and performance tracking.
- Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, materials, Tier 1 supplier requirements, including kanban systems, quality, and delivery standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and forecast demand.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Cigma) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Salary: CAD $99,000 - $123,000.
