About the Opportunity
Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Production, the Manager, Product Supportwill provide effective leadership and front-line management to the Monitoring, Decontamination and Shipping (MD&S)team.

This position is responsible for establishing and planning operational priorities for the MD&S teams within a manufacturing operation located in a Class 1B nuclear facility. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team while ensuring production objectives, safety requirements, quality standards, and business goals are consistently achieved.

The ideal candidate is an experienced production leader with strong people-management skills and experience working in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide management oversight and leadership to a team responsible for supporting the execution of the daily production plan.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor employees while managing performance, recruitment, selection, and training activities.
  • Ensure quality production standards are consistently followed and maintained.
  • Monitor production, inventory, safety, and maintenance programs to support operational excellence.
  • Ensure employees comply with all applicable safety regulations, policies, procedures, and workplace requirements.
  • Ensure the effective and appropriate utilization of transport packages.
  • Motivate and develop team members to improve individual and team performance.
  • Foster a workplace culture built on integrity, authenticity, trust, collaboration, open communication, and respect.
  • Maintain accountability for business outcomes related to cost of sales, operating expenses, and capital budgeting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, safety, productivity, and operational excellence.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science-related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum6 years of supervisory or management experiencein a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a safety-critical or highly regulated environment.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production operations, employee performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing organizational or operational change.
  • Strong understanding of union culture and experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees, leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • This position may require occasionalshift work and weekend workbased on operational requirements.
  • The role involves working in a combination ofoffice and industrial environments.
  • Experience or knowledge of nuclear facilities and nuclear operations is considered an asset.
  • Lean Six Sigma certificationis considered an asset.
Required Training
  • The successful candidate must complete all required training and certifications to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker.
