Manager, Product and Trade Marketing

Full-Time Permanent

Reporting to: Director, Product & Trade Marketing

As Canada’s leading clothing retailer of high-end men’s wear based in Toronto and operating in major centres across Canada, an exciting and challenging opportunity exists in the Marketing Department. In this role, the successful candidate will play a key part in bringing products to life through compelling programs that inspire, engage, and convert. With a strong focus on both creativity and performance, the Manager, Product and Trade Marketing will help shape and execute initiatives that showcase our curated offering, while thoughtfully managing revenue plans and vendor program budgets to drive measurable results. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Brand Partner Relationships

  1. Build, manage, and grow relationships with brands to scale and optimize the co-op marketing program, ensuring alignment with business goals and overall marketing strategies.
  2. Lead seasonal vendor calls and develop plans based on objectives and budgets.
  3. Work directly with brand partners for a seamless execution of all sponsored programs– ensuring all parties sign off on final assets.
  4. Manage the coop collection process and timelines.
  5. Negotiate marketing agreements, co-op opportunities, and support initiatives to enhance brand presence and sales.

Product & Fashion Knowledge

  1. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging product categories, and fashion insights to guide marketing initiatives.
  2. Provide expertise and recommendations on product assortments, positioning, and competitive differentiation.
  3. Ensure alignment between product launches, marketing activities, and overall brand strategy.
  4. Lead the communications of go-to-market strategy for new brands and products including drops, exclusive collections, and categories.

Marketing Strategy & Forecasting:

  1. Lead the development and execution of product focused marketing strategies to maximize exposure and profitability.
  2. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of co-op campaigns, adjusting strategies to optimize results.
  3. Utilize data to create well thought out postmortems for past marketing campaigns/programs.
  4. Tracking ongoing product/brand sell through, to determine if strategic adjustments are necessary.

Internal Education

  1. Lead in the development of seasonal internal content, including trend decks, styling guidance, weekly newsletters and training programs.
  2. Understand and help to disseminate the Harry Rosen style POV, supporting brand differentiation.
  3. Lead in developing the seasonal collection grid along with product guides to provide product SKU details/inventory.
  4. Develop training materials that help internal teams stay informed about product features, benefits, and marketing strategies.
  5. Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing across the organization.

Project Management:

  1. Lead and oversee the tracking and execution of seasonal priorities to ensure that programs are delivered on time and meet business objectives.
  2. Manage work-backs cross-functionally to ensure timely execution of product marketing programs.
  3. Ensure strategic alignment of all product and brand representation online across platforms (email, social, ecommerce), ensuring brand guidelines are met and key product priorities are optimized.

Leadership:

  1. Establish performance goals and provide guidance and leadership to team members, ensuring alignment with the overarching marketing strategy and goals.
  2. Support team members in developing their product, fashion, and trade skills.
  3. Hold one-on-one meetings and complete assessments.
  4. Participate in recruitment, development and retention.
  5. Establish performance standards and goals and lead by example.
  6. Maximize opportunities for team to participate in omni-channel projects to grow skills.

The successful candidate will bring the following skills:

  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business or other relevant field
  • 5+ years of related experience - specifically in Marketing and/or Fashion
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, including buying, ecommerce, and studio teams.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong initiative and can-do attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, ability to prioritize and work within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and across functions.
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Past experience in retail or fashion is a strong asset.
