  • Data Protection: Oversee the management and protection of sensitive data, including personal and financial information.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate privacy and data security risks across the organization.
  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees about data privacy and security best practices.
  • Privacy Incident Response: Develop and manage an incident response plan as it pertains to privacy to handle data breaches and security incidents effectively.
  • Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular and ad-hoc audits and assessments to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, IT, and compliance teams, to address privacy and data security issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on privacy and data security metrics to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CISSP) is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data privacy, data protection, or information security roles, with a proven track record of managing privacy programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canada data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage projects, and drive organizational change.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
