Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager Postal Quality plays a critical role in enhancing postal operations by identifying and driving positive outcomes within all aspects of DHLeC postal parcel shipping. The primary role is to focus on data driven defect identification within customer package preparation, operations, transportation, and the postal network. Using analytical and quantitative methods, this role aims to understand, predict, and enhance postal processes and procedures to improve performance. The Manager is responsible for assembling data requirements to modernize and automate processes within the postal organization. This position requires in-depth knowledge of logistics operations, including analyzing performance, identifying challenges, and developing recommendations to support the management of the postal department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define data needs from multiple systems to be stored in the data lake.
  • Define data requirements and lead the implementation of new processes and systems to integrate machine data, OTM, piece to container, tracking data, IV, Fast appointments and others to build appropriate visibility, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into existing workflows and that all stakeholders are adequately trained.
  • Identify and analyze defects within postal delivery and develop standardized processes for increased on time performance, visibility on container and package scanning.
  • Drive quality improvements in alignment with customer service, sales, and operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures, and training materials to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continuous enhancement of postal processes.
  • Lead the implementation of improvement projects in liaison with the transportation team.
  • Foster a culture of quality improvement by promoting best practices, encouraging innovative solutions, and staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Automate current manual processes and procedures using new software and technologies, ensuring that all postal quality operations are as efficient and effective as possible.
  • Manage postal integration team and represent it on various projects.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, logistics or related field required.
  • 7 years of work experience related to quality, package distribution, fulfillment, mailing, or logistics required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; working knowledge in Visio and Teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading quality improvement initiatives and delivering measurable results.
  • Desired experience and/or certification in Lean/Six Sigma (First Choice), showcasing a commitment to continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience with USPS products, services, and network required.
  • Vendor and project management experience required.

  • Strong aptitude for Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Disciplined to work remotely, demonstrating the ability to maintain productivity and effectiveness in a virtual work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting.
  • Regular sitting at workstation for 25 – 75% of the work shift.
  • Travel required (up to 25%).

Annual Salary of $84,675 to $135,500. This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include but are not limited to your specific skills, your work location, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
