About the Role

Join our team as the Manager, Philanthropic Partnerships and play a vital role in advancing our mission to address hunger and poverty across the country. In this high-impact position, you'll lead the cultivation and stewardship of corporate and foundation partnerships, securing significant philanthropic investments that drive real change. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you'll craft compelling proposals, develop strategic fundraising initiatives, and contribute to achieving ambitious revenue targets. We're looking for a persuasive communicator and relationship builder with a proven track record in fundraising, who brings passion, strategic thinking, and a results-driven approach to their work.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation partnerships, leveraging “Moves Management” phases and stewardship activities to secure new, and grow current, partnerships to meet or exceed annual revenue targets
  • Write compelling grant proposals and grant applications tailored to the requirements of corporations and foundations
  • Collaborate with Food Banks Canada program staff and other team members to gather information, develop project narratives, and create budgets for grant proposals
  • Support the Director, Philanthropic Partnership and team members, with the execution of sector diversification initiatives, working closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to optimize revenue generation
  • Collaborate effectively with internal department stakeholders to ensure maximum revenue and implementation of fundraising best practices across the entire Development portfolio
  • Build relationship loyalty through meticulous service, support, and creative problem solving

What You Will Need

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience with a proven track record of success in fundraising and securing large gifts from corporations and foundations
  • Experience working in a team environment across multiple stakeholder groups both internal and external
  • Exceptional skills in networking, presenting, and pitching, with demonstrated capacity to manage prospects through the full “Moves Management” cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation/agreement, stewardship) to a successful close
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, crafting clear, persuasive, and well-researched grant proposals that align with funding opportunities and effectively communicate Food Banks Canada’s goals and impact.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to execute complex fundraising strategies
  • Strong donor relations and customer service skills, and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project coordination and issue management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work
  • This position is home-based and must be located within 100km of the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required
