When choosing your career path, choose to be remarkable.

AbbVie's mission is to discover and deliver innovative medicines that solve serious health issues today and address the medical challenges of tomorrow. We focus on key therapeutic areas: immunology, oncology, neuroscience, vision care, virology, women’s health, and gastroenterology, along with products and services in our Allergan Aesthetics portfolio.

The pharmacy and trade focus at AbbVie is evolving from operational responsibilities to strategic development of pharmacy and distribution strategies across the portfolio, in both specialty and retail pharmacy channels. This includes supporting high-value brands in areas like IBD, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Parkinson’s, and payer-managed medications in Migraine, Psychiatry, and Eye Care. These medications often require special handling, storage, and coordination with payers and healthcare professionals, emphasizing patient education and management.

The expectations of pharmacies and pharmacists are rapidly evolving, necessitating transformation. Many pharmacies are adopting new technologies and customer service innovations. As specialty and retail pharmacies reinvent themselves, the Pharmacy Partnership and Trade Manager will define how AbbVie partners with these stakeholders to optimize patient experience and grow our business. Patients' needs and expectations are also changing, with demands for convenience and higher-touch clinical support, challenging manufacturers like AbbVie to refine our value propositions and stakeholder partnerships.

The Pharmacy Partnership and Trade Manager will lead a team to identify business opportunities in the evolving pharmacy and distribution channels, developing initiatives to collaborate with pharmacy and wholesaler stakeholders to support AbbVie products. This role requires deep expertise in the pharmacy and distribution landscape, including developing innovative strategic partnerships and models.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Establish vision and strategy to innovate distribution and patient access models in both channels.
  2. Develop strategies to enhance connectivity with patients through pharmacy partnerships.
  3. Oversee successful product launches in the Trade channel by preparing stakeholders effectively.
  4. Analyze pharmacy data to inform strategic decisions and measure team performance.
  5. Manage relationships with internal cross-functional partners such as commercial, finance, customer service, and supply chain.
  6. Lead collaboration with commercial and finance leadership on Trade strategies impacting planning and forecasting.
  7. Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders including pharmacies, vendors, and strategic partners.
  8. Partner with Market Access to address policy impacts and develop related initiatives.
  9. Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of inclusion, professional growth, and talent retention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Business, Health Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmacy services, trade operations, or similar within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and marketing preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude and customer-centric mindset.
  • Knowledge of applicable pharmaceutical regulations and standards.

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with technology systems.

Leadership competencies include:
