Description

Scope of Position

The Manager Personal Finance (MPF) supports the Regional Manager in the strategic planning, organization, and administration of all related sales and service functions and activities. The MPF provides leadership through continuous learning, performance assessment, coaching, and recognition to a team of sales professionals who are working towards achieving referrals, sales, and service targets. This role will be located at the Belleville branch and will be required to provide support for all 3 branches (Belleville, Trenton, and Frankford) as needed.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide training, coaching, monitoring, and supervision to a team of sales-oriented staff in order to meet sales, referrals, and service targets.
  • Assist in the planning and monitoring of the Branch Annual Operating Plan.
  • Oversee operational cash and custody controls executed by staff, ensuring compliance and cash control procedures.
  • Assist in audit and monitoring of Branch Reports.
  • Filter and distribute communications in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and administer sales campaigns with Branch Manager & Regional Manager.
  • Resolve problems and member complaints to ensure the needs of members and Alterna are met.
  • Ensure sales meetings and morning huddles are ongoing by planning content with Branch Manager & Regional Manager.
  • Ensure the team is up to date on all industry and corporate changes.
  • Conduct performance appraisals of direct reports and assist them in setting goals in accordance with established performance standards.
  • Identify performance problems of direct reports, initiate corrective action, and make recommendations including termination if necessary.
  • Participate in interviews for prospective employees.
  • Serve as Acting Manager in the absence of Branch Manager(s).
  • Organize and execute sales activities as per branch tactical plan.
  • Capitalize on opportunities to retain and grow the business of members.
  • Ensure staff development plans are in place for all branch employees.
  • Conduct sales leadership fundamentals (meetings) with employees as expected (weekly goal setting, monthly review, and monthly side by side observation).
  • Participate in Head Office initiatives as assigned by Branch Manager.
  • Engage staff to achieve all expectations.
  • Ensure Alterna members view the organization as exceeding their expectations in terms of service quality and loyalty.
  • Ensure staff adhere to code of conduct and service standards.
  • Achieve Branch Sales and Referral Objectives.
  • Adhere to all Operational and Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Identify and duly note any exceptions to policy and procedures when recommending approval for credit.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications / Experience

  • Thorough understanding of sales processes and sales management.
  • Thorough understanding of coaching principles.
  • Completion of CSC or IFIC.
  • University degree/college diploma with 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Thorough understanding of credit granting principles with a lending limit and solid knowledge of Investments.
  • PFP or CFP recommended but not required.
  • PC literate (familiarity with Windows and MS Office based technologies).
  • Thorough understanding of Alterna products and services.
  • Knowledge of the (internal/external) member’s unique characteristics.
  • Industry and marketplace knowledge to develop creative and high-quality solutions to member needs.
