Job description

Overview

The Manager, PCU/PAC/Fracture Clinic, Surgery reports to the Director, Surgery and is responsible for ensuring patient care services are delivered in accordance with the organization's vision and strategic goals. As a Clinical Manager in a large-scale acute care hospital, this role will be responsible for developing and monitoring policies and budgets; managing human resources; leading staff to ensure excellent quality in patient care and quality improvement in Day Surgery Unit, Pre-Admission Clinic, and Fracture Clinic.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline, required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Current registration with professional College/Association.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience; at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Five (5) years clinical practice, at least part of which is in surgical services or Ambulatory Clinics in a hospital setting.
  • Previous management experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with quality improvement methodologies, problem-solving, change management, motivating employees, planning, budgeting, and labour relations/collective agreement interpretation.
  • Labour and employee relations skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and knowledge of organizational structures and functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to forecast, plan, and monitor operating and capital equipment budgets.
  • Embodies MGH core values.
  • Advocate for patients, staff, and professional practice advancement.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and staffing principles.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate fair and equitable work practices.
  • Working knowledge of clinical/administrative computer software.
