Job summary

MNP is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to lead SR&ED IT and software-related tax credit engagements. You will advise clients on eligible innovation activities, prepare technical reports and coordinate with tax authorities and ecosystem partners across Canada.

The role requires strong bilingual communication in French and English, extensive SR&ED experience, and a track record delivering high-quality, on-budget outcomes in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in software development or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of SR&ED experience, including IT/software claims.
• Experience with CDAE or other government incentive programs is a plus.
• Exposure to AI/ML, cloud computing, web/mobile development and open-source tech.

Responsibilities

• Interface with CTOs, developers, engineers and technical stakeholders on leading-edge IT projects.
• Assist clients with high-quality submissions under SR&ED, CDAE and similar programs.
• Identify technological advancements and eligible innovation activities in IT/software/AI sectors.
• Prepare clear, concise reports describing client development projects and supporting docs.
• Manage multiple client assignments, delivering quality work on time and on budget.
• Collaborate with colleagues, CRA, Revenu Québec and IQ reps across the country.

Make an impact with our Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) team as a Manger or Senior Manager, specializing in IT and Software. Responsibilities

• Interface with Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), software developers, engineering teams and other technical stakeholders at companies undertaking leading-edge technology, software, artificial intelligence and innovation projects
• Assist clients with the preparation of high-quality submissions under the SR&ED tax credit, E-Business Development Tax Credit (CDAE) and other tax credit incentive programs.
• Identify technological advancements, technical uncertainties and eligible innovation activities within the IT, software, artificial intelligence, computer science and broader technology sectors
• Prepare clear, concise and technically accurate reports that describe client development projects, innovation activities and supporting documentation
• Manage multiple client assignments and priorities while delivering high-quality work on time and on budget
• Collaborate with team members across the country, clients, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Revenu Québec, Investissement Québec (IQ) representatives, and members of the funding and investment community as a trusted professional in your field

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or another related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in software development, technology, engineering or a related innovation-driven environment
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant SR&ED experience, including experience preparing or supporting IT, software or technology-based claims
• Experience with CDAE and other government incentive programs would be considered an asset
• Exposure to current development technologies and environments, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, mobile application development, game development, web application development, open-source technologies and Agile environments
• Bilingual written and verbal communication skills in French and English are required to prepare strong, clear, concise and persuasive reports for SR&ED and tax incentive claims
• Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Focus on achieving high-quality, timely and profitable results while managing multiple priorities and client engagements
