Base pay range

CA$95,000.00 / yr - CA$135,000.00 / yr

As part of Q Wealth’s fund operations team, you will play a key role in overseeing the integrity and efficiency of our fund accounting and financial reporting processes. This role is critical to ensuring accurate valuation, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across our investment products.

This role can be 100% remote if the candidate is located in BC or AB.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fund Accounting Oversight : Manage and supervise daily fund accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data.
  • People Management : Manage the team of Senior Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants
  • Fund Accounting : This role will also perform daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and calculating NAVs for a handful of our most complex funds, and to provide vacation coverage for team members. Resolve discrepancies and address any accounting issues. Monitor cash flow and coordinate with the operations team to ensure proper fund liquidity management.
  • Financial Reporting : Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and regulatory filings for all funds under management.
  • End-of-Day NAV Review & Approval : Conduct thorough reviews of daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and sign-off on final valuations.
  • Audit Coordination :
  • Liaise with external auditors to support annual fund audits.
  • Coordinate operational control audits and ensure timely resolution of any findings.
  • Tax Filings : Build out the process for preparing the production and filing of the annual Trust tax returns for the funds as well as the annual HST filing for the group of funds.
  • Process Improvement : Identify and implement enhancements to fund operations workflows and reporting systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams (compliance, investment fund management, IT) and external service providers to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, and audit coordination within the asset management or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, valuation methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • CPA designation or equivalent is a strong asset
  • Factors influencing the seniority of the role will depend on the candidate's experience in fund operations, size and complexity of funds managed, audit and regulatory experience, and team leadership experience
