Job summary

ATB Financial is hiring a Manager of Operations, Tax, Estates and Corporate Actions (TECA). You will lead a high-performing team of analysts and specialists, ensuring accurate tax reporting, estate processing, and corporate actions while aligning with regulatory requirements.

You will drive modernization, coordinate with internal partners and external clients, and coach talent to deliver exceptional client experiences. This is a strategic, impact‑driven leadership role.

About the role

As ATB’s next Manager of Operations, Tax, Estates and Corporate Actions (TECA), you will report directly to the Director, Operations. You are a dynamic people leader responsible for cultivating a highly engaged, high-performing team of analysts and specialists. Beyond overseeing the selection, onboarding, and sustainment of team members, you are a strategic catalyst. You will play a critical role in ensuring the team executes against our business commitments while actively seeking ways to accelerate growth through process modernization and technology integration. By empowering your talent and streamlining workflows, you will ensure your team consistently delivers exceptional results as part of a broader ecosystem dedicated to a seamless, empathetic client experience.

Accountabilities

• Empower and Lead the TECA Team: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Tax (focused on compliance and reporting), Corporate Actions, and Estate Operations teams. You will ensure precision in complex tasks, including income reconciliation, tax slip reporting, corporate action processing, adherence to regulatory guidelines (CRA, IRS, FATCA, CRS), and the meticulous, sensitive handling of estate settlements, legal document reviews, and asset transfers.


• Drive Strategic Execution & Technology Adoption: Contribute directly to our overarching strategy by identifying opportunities to fuel our operational engine through technology and modern processes. You will lead your team’s participation in firm and industry projects, guiding them through change management and technological adoption to build capacity for future shifts.


• Cultivate a Culture of Coaching & Growth: Lead a diverse team of entry-level and developing professionals by nurturing their evolution toward expert operational models. You will provide timely, courageous coaching and set clear expectations, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standard while prioritizing the long-term career growth of your team members.


• Build Deep Partnerships: Create, sustain, and leverage effective relationships across a complex matrix environment. You will manage expectations with business partners, key internal stakeholders, and external entities (including executors and legal representatives) to provide seamless support to our Advisory Services teams, particularly during highly sensitive and complex estate transitions.

• Industry Knowledge: An excellent understanding of the investment industry, with a strong working knowledge of ATB Financial and ATB Wealth structures. Familiarity with tax compliance regimes (CRA, IRS, FATCA, CRS), corporate actions, and the legal and operational nuances of estate processing (e.g., probate, wills, beneficiary payouts) is highly valued.

Education:

• University Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, or equivalent related operational leadership experience.
