Vice President Sustainability and Government Relations

Job Title: Manager, Operations Excellence

Reports To: CEO

Job Summary: The Manager of Operations Excellence will oversee the optimization of manufacturing processes with our operating companies, focusing on efficiency, product yield, capacity utilization, plant layout, and efficient product flow. This role encompasses responsibilities to focus on Operational Excellence, Production Optimization, Plant Efficiency and Yield, Operational Performance. Recommending and implementing Process Improvements. The Manager of Operations Excellence will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and achieve key performance metrics at all manufacturing sites across North America within the business group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Plant and Operational staff to help develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, product yield, and capacity utilization across multiple sites.
  • Establish consistent metrics and reporting mechanisms across all operating companies working closely with Finance and Production departments.
  • Analyze and optimize plant layout and product flow to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Utilize manufacturing analysis tools to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, yield, capacity, and product flow.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices and process improvement techniques.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process workflows.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technologies to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Food Science, Commerce or a related field.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing analysis tools and software, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards, including food safety and quality requirements.
