Job description

Reporting into the Process Owner Assembly, this position is responsible for the overall leadership and coordination of the assigned section, including financial, operational, and statutory accountability.

  • Competitive salary, range $90,000 to $105,000 gross annually

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Financial accountability for the section.
  • Aligns section assembly process to the defined master production schedule. Maintains Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Responsible for compliance and improvement with established objectives, daily monitoring of deviations, and follow-up with corrective actions.
  • Meets quality KPIs and internal and external customer expectations.
  • Proactively manages team performance.
  • Resolves conflicts and provides solutions.
  • Sustains and maintains legal and compliance requirements across health and safety, food safety, security, and gateOPEX (in-house operational excellence programme).
  • Initiates and improves continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively involved in customer engagement.
  • Develops departmental competence through training and coaching staff/teams.
  • Leads or attends operational meetings and shift briefings.
  • Creates a positive working environment.
  • Responsible for staffing levels (collaborating with HR).
  • Staff and production planning (short and medium term).
  • Collaborates with the Internal Delivery System (IDS) team to define and align all internal transport activities.
  • Ensures proper application of defined 5S principles.
  • Identifies potential defects through the Internal Feedback Loop (IFBL).

Qualifications

Education :

  • Food and hygiene-related education/training.
  • Various management training.
  • Operational and People Management specialization is desirable.
  • Degree or demonstrable ongoing professional development at a senior level preferred.
  • Professional qualifications in operations/logistics preferred.
  • Certification or experience in Lean Six Sigma preferred.

Work Experience :

  • At least 5 years’ experience in an Operations environment.
  • Experience in a Food Hygiene / Health & Safety / High Security environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience demonstrating leadership and management responsibilities.
  • Experience leading projects and teams across organizations, maintaining standards to ensure product and process safety and quality improvement.
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing techniques preferred.

Language / Communication Skills :

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and customers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
