Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership roles with a focus on operational excellence.
  • 3-5 years in a management position in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is required.

What You Will Do:

As theManager, Operations - Bathing you will play a key role in leading daily manufacturing activities within the bathing operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently met. Reporting to theDirector, Manufacturing, this role provides strategic direction to the production team while driving operational excellence through Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as a role model for organizational culture, the Manager, Operations - Bathing embodies and promotesMasco Canada’s values, fostering a high-performance, continuous improvement mindset, removing obstacles and barriers by encouraging collaboration and cross-functional teamwork and creating an engaged workforce where every team member is valued.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day execution of the manufacturing plan, directing and advisingProduction Supervisors (Junior Area Managers, Area Managers, and Senior Area Managers)to meet production goals.
  • Champion asafety-first culture, ensuring compliance withhealth and safety regulationsand fostering a clean, organized work environment through5S methodology.
  • Optimize workforce planning by scheduling and assigning personnel to meetSchedule AttainmentandPast Due Targets, aligning with customer demand and business priorities.
  • UtilizeLean Manufacturing, MOS tools, andproblem-solving techniquesto drive operational improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Monitor dailyperformance metrics, proactively addressing issues to ensure continuous operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership incontinuous improvement initiatives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration to implement process enhancements and integrate new products.
  • Ensure compliance withMasco’s internal control procedures, labour agreements, and company policies while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop, mentor, and coachdirect reportsand frontline leaders, ensuring performance feedback, succession planning, and leadership growth.
  • Partner withHR to manage labour-related matters and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Exhibit sound judgment, making timely and strategic decisions to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

What will you bring:

  • Proven success record of working in a similar role or as a Plant Manager is an asset
  • A university degree or college diploma in engineering, business management in Industrial Management or Business is preferred
  • Industrial Management Certificate or equivalent
  • O.S.S.D or equivalent
  • 5-10 yearsof progressive experience inmanufacturing leadership roleswith a strong focus on operational excellence
  • 3-5 yearsof experience in a management position within afast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • A successful record of working in aunionized environmentis required
  • Advanced knowledge ofLean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI), 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other Lean tools
  • Proficiency inusing and applying Microsoft Office applications;
  • Experience withJDE or other ERP systems
