We are looking for a Manager, Operational Risk Canada. The Manager, ORM is accountable for supporting and executing operational risk processes, tools, and standardized guidance to the enterprise to capture, identify, evaluate, respond to, and report on risk information. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the enterprise’s end-to-end processes and their material risks, conduct comparative analysis across various operational risk tools, and analyze a comprehensive view of business operational risk profiles. This role will consult with other 2nd line of defense (business partners, risk domain leads) and 1st line of defense (business functions) to ensure that activities for managing operational risk and controls are operating effectively. The role reports into the Director, Operational Risk Management Canada.

What you will do
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational risk management tools, processes, and programs across the enterprise.
  • Provide second line oversight by challenging first line risk assessments, monitoring control effectiveness, and ensuring alignment with enterprise risk standards.
  • Analyze and report on operational risk data (e.g., RCAs, risk events, KRIs, scenarios), translating insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Support the maturity of operational risk programs by enhancing methodologies, increasing consistency, and driving effectiveness in risk identification and control evaluation.
  • Build strong relationships across business units and contribute to a culture of risk awareness through training, workshops, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Contribute to audit and regulatory readiness, support cross-functional projects, and promote continuous improvement within the Operational Risk Management team.
What you will bring
  • Strong working knowledge of key operational risk programs, including Risk and Control Assessments (RCA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Scenario Analysis, and Risk Events.
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative risk data to support decision-making and program effectiveness.
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and change, with a track record of delivering results in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Post-secondary education preferred; equivalent training or experience will be considered.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams, including senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and consistency.

Location: Given the size and scope of our organization, this position can be located in Toronto, London, or Winnipeg.

Compensation: The base salary for this position is between $76,400 and $141,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not include other variable compensation components of total rewards.
