Reporting to the VP, Governance, this role will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of Oxford’s Policy Governance Framework and Compliance Management program for Oxford’s operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in building processes from the ground up and enjoys collaborating across the organization.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Policy Governance Management

  • Support the VP in developing, maturing and driving our policy management in alignment with the OMERS Policy Framework.
  • Collaborate with policy owners, business leaders, internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to design, draft, and maintain clear, practical, and accessible policies, guidelines, procedures and standards.
  • Implement effective processes to manage the policy lifecycle, including version control, reviews, approvals, publication, and archival.
  • Provide guidance on policy change management strategies, including developing educational materials, delivering training sessions, and tracking policy awareness and adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to improve policy clarity, reduce redundancies, and align documentation with organizational objectives.

Compliance Management

  • Support the VP in maturing Oxford’s compliance management program, with a focus on operational compliance.
  • Design and implement Oxford-specific process(es) to check in with policy owners to verify compliance with internal policies.
  • Partner with business units to develop practical solutions that align with compliance obligations and/or management plans including identifying and assessing compliance risks and recommending risk mitigation strategies and controls.
  • Prepare reporting for senior management and for OMERS Compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison for internal stakeholders to receive feedback and support issue-resolution related to the OMERS global compliance program.

Advisory & Collaboration

  • Act as a trusted resource for the VP and business leaders by providing insights, guidance, and practical solutions to strengthen policy management and compliance practices.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to support effective communication, training, and awareness of governance and compliance initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, policy development, and compliance programs.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills with the ability to create clear, practical materials and presentations.
  • Experience designing and delivering change management strategies and education sessions to promote policy awareness and engagement.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrate curiosity and resourcefulness.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to map and analyze business processes, assess gaps, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend improvements.
  • Strong people skills with an ability to work across multiple teams within the organization.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes through collaboration.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to organize work, manage timelines, and track progress.
  • Comfortable working and dealing with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience & Qualifications:
