Clio is more than just a tech company–we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary: We are currently seeking a Manager of Systems Engineering, Azure Infrastructure, to join our Engineering organization and support a recently acquired team and product in Manchester, England. This role is available to candidates in Canada in either the Eastern or Atlantic time zones, excluding Quebec. If you are local to one of our hubs (Toronto for this role), you will be expected to be in the office a minimum of twice per week on one of our Anchor Days.

At Clio we strive to be both human and high performing. For our Manager of Systems Engineering, this means someone who can collaborate across the engineering organization to empower product development with the right systems and services to unlock their velocity, foster discussions about core efficiency or performance problems in our applications, and ultimately put their hands on the keyboard to “lead from the front” and help diagnose and solve problems in production. The successful candidate will have a mandate to secure and maintain the staging and production Azure environments for an exciting acquisition at Clio.

Responsibilities include:
  • Defining the vision, and supporting your team in designing and implementing the architecture to power new global capabilities for Clio's customers.
  • Authoring, reviewing, and shipping infrastructure-as-code in Clio’s cloud environments.
  • Enabling product teams to self-serve issues and reduce the time-to-resolve for production issues by automation and creating observability tooling.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and collaborating with your team, and building cross-functional relationships across the engineering organization.
  • Partnering with product development teams to ensure all products meet high standards for security, performance, reliability, and change velocity.
  • Working closely with recruiting to actively hire top talent for infrastructure and development teams.
Ideal candidate profile:
  • Proven success in leading large-scale SaaS systems engineering teams.
  • Strong experience managing Microsoft cloud solutions with infrastructure as code tools like Pulumi.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Knowledge of at least one software development language.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and share lessons learned from projects.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and retaining engineering talent in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and roadmaps.
Benefits and compensation:

We offer a competitive salary ($172,000 - $258,000 CAD) with comprehensive health benefits, flexible work arrangements, and a range of perks including RRSP matching, counseling benefits, and recognition programs. Salary bands vary by location and experience, with final offers based on individual qualifications.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion:

We foster an inclusive environment where all team members feel valued and empowered. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply and provide accommodations during the recruitment process.
