Salary: $66,000 to $78,000 annual salary, benefits and Enrollment in MPP

Job Summary

Based out of Chesterfield House, the Manager of Supportive Housing (MSH) oversees services and supports at Chesterfield House. Chesterfield consists of 25 residents living with and in recovery from persistent mental illness. The role is responsible for the overall operations of the society’s Supportive Housing Program at Chesterfield, including direct client support, assisting with resident/tenant issues, assisting with building safety, and liaison with collaborating agencies. This position also provides support to the Marineview's Licensed residential care programs (0.25 FTE) and is a member of the Leadership team. There is an ability to flex time. Call is shared with other members of the management team.

Responsible To: Executive Director

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates, develops, and implements individual recovery/rehabilitation plans using a client-centered approach. These plans include ADL, medications, mental illness management, social engagement, and emergency support plans.
  2. Ensures client documentation including wellness/recovery plans, taxes, income assessments, progress notes, incident reporting, and required tenant agreements are current.
  3. Assesses all referrals for suitability for the CHS program. Arranges for resident admissions, possible re-admissions, and discharges.
  4. Collaborates closely with the Hope Centre Residential Housing Team and other agencies to support tenants/clients.
  5. Administers, coordinates, and directs the operations of the facilities.
  6. Assists with budget development and implements the approved budget for the CHS site.
  7. Maintains records as required.
  8. Establishes and maintains professional contacts with the community and related agencies to ensure that CHS is a good neighbour.
  9. Directs facility operations, including undertaking inspections. With Caretaker, develops and implements an approved building maintenance and repair plan within budget.
  10. Be on call for urgent items and emergencies (shared with other members of the Leadership team).
  11. Prepares reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  12. Provides supportive housing services to Marineview Housing’s Licensed sites as required (approx. 0.25 FTE).

Qualifications:

Education, knowledge, and experience

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of and application of Psychosocial Rehabilitation in the supportive housing environment.
  2. Diploma in Social Work, Counselling, Recreational Therapy, or completion of diploma or two-year certificate programs in Community Mental Health and/or Psycho-Social rehabilitation with relevant experience. Experience with licensed care and working with elders is an asset. Member of a regulated health profession is an asset.
  3. A minimum of two to five years of experience in supporting adults with significant mental illness. Experience in residential care is an asset.
  4. Recent experience in management or supervision in a mental health residential setting.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of administration, budget management, scheduling, and record keeping.
  6. Knowledge and experience in facility management and The Residential Tenancy Act.
  7. Physical and mental ability to undertake role responsibilities.
  8. Ability to problem solve, work independently, and prioritize.
  9. Ability to demonstrate leadership ability, including conflict resolution.
  10. Computer proficiency for writing, financial reporting, and email.
  11. Demonstrates commitment to ongoing education.
  12. Ability to speak another language, particularly Farsi, is an asset.
  13. Driver’s License and vehicle required.
  14. Current First Aid/CPR, Naloxone, and Food Safe certification required.
