POSITION SUMMARY :
The Manager of Regional Sales is responsible for managing and directing sales personnel and processes to grow business with existing customers and generate new business opportunities within an assigned region. This role focuses on driving sales growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving profitability goals through effective team management and strategic planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve regional sales targets.
- Forecast and establish annual sales objectives for products, customers, and territories.
- Manage and direct the work of the functional team, including hiring, performance appraisals, corrective actions, and pay reviews, as well as budget and process management.
- Lead and motivate a large team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment in accordance with Würth principles.
- Implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, including onboarding new employees.
- Manage workforce planning, staffing, and labor relations to meet operational requirements.
- Collaborate with internal partners to align sales goals with organizational objectives.
- Manage and mentor sales representatives within the region to drive performance and achieve sales targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, training, and recognition to team members.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and foster a positive team culture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Support sales representatives in negotiations, contract discussions, and product presentations.
- Act as a point of escalation to resolve customer concerns and ensure satisfaction.
- Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring progress through the sales cycle.
- Guide closing deals and securing contracts aligned with profitability goals.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and regional conditions to inform sales strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities and recommend initiatives to capitalize on them.
- Participate in trade shows and industry conferences to enhance market presence.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Marketing, Operations, and Product Development.
- Coordinate customer implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide regular updates on sales performance, forecasts, and regional activities to senior management.
- Prepare and present reports on key metrics, customer trends, and team achievements.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial sales experience, with a strong industry and product knowledge.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop insights.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the region.
