Base pay range

CA$115,000.00 / yr - CA$120,000.00 / yr

Location : Toronto, ON

Flexibility : Hybrid (3 days onsite / week)

The Opportunity :

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Accounting Manager to lead the financial oversight of multiple projects from development through operations. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to drive process improvements and financial transparency.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead project financial tracking by monitoring budgets, forecasts, and actuals across multiple initiatives.
• Evaluate project profitability and generate variance reports highlighting budget deviations.
• Provide financial oversight during both development and operational stages, ensuring continuity.
• Partner with project managers to promote ownership of financial outcomes and maintain accurate reporting.
• Coordinate with general accounting for support on transactional activities.
• Develop and enhance project accounting processes and workflows to improve clarity and performance.
• Identify and resolve inefficiencies in current systems, particularly those involving remote team members.
• Maximize the use of accounting systems for timely reporting and better decision-making.
• Serve as the go-to resource for project financial inquiries, offering strategic insights to leadership.

Qualifications :

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in project accounting, preferably in construction, real estate, or infrastructure.

Strong skills in financial analysis, particularly budget vs. actual comparisons and margin reporting.

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively with others.

Experience refining or implementing project accounting practices and internal controls.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with operational and leadership teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation is a strong asset.
