As a Manager of Major Projects – Mainline Pipeline, Construction you will lead all aspects of pipeline loops and crossings for major projects, including route planning, trench-less installation, geohazard assessment, AC mitigation, water management, hydro testing, and commissioning.
Your role is to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery while fulfilling regulatory, environmental, and Indigenous obligations.
What you will do:
- Providing overall management and strategic oversight for planning and performing project activities on capital projects.
- Overseeing, through support functions, a technical and non-technical team responsible for developing recommendations that provide the basis for making critical business decisions.
- Representing the enterprise externally, e.g., at regulatory hearings and making commitments on project execution matters.
- Ensuring project scope, schedule, cost, and risks are optimally supervised and controlled, including but not limited to overseeing project execution processes and solutions with regards to assessing, monitoring, reporting and implementing engineering design and construction on major projects.
- Mentoring and motivating a team or teams of staff, contractors and internal partners in the fulfillment of responsibilities, typically through subordinate staff.
Who you are:
- Engineering degree, diploma, technical certification or combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years progressively responsible experience in delivering large-diameter liquid or gas pipelines in a complex terrain. 5 years leadership experience respectively is preferred.
- Experience in a leadership position managing small to moderately sized projects involving internal and external partners in greenfield pipeline operations.
- Experience in managing multi-spread programs in BC is an asset.
- Effective leadership skills which include, cultivating a collaborative, hard-working team-focused approach and inspire change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment.
- 10-20% of travel dependent on field construction, training, and meetings.
