Job Description

The Manager – Integrated Mission provides operational coordination and support, reinforcing integrated mission initiatives as part of senior leadership. The role involves active engagement in congregational and Community Services ministries, supporting guests in accessing holistic services at Boundless Vancouver. The Manager leads the Community Ministries team, performing duties professionally, efficiently, and confidentially, aligned with the organization’s core values.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Leadership

  • Participate actively in management and planning committees for the Ministry Unit.
  • Develop and implement action plans with senior leadership.
  • Provide leadership and support to Community Ministries staff, fostering spiritual and professional development.
  • Supervise team members including recruitment, training, performance management, and discipline.
  • Ensure regular performance coaching sessions and support staff in achieving goals.
  • Support and empower team leaders, develop staff growth strategies, and oversee program evaluations.
  • Manage community programs, including intake, assessment, and emergency assistance, ensuring alignment with mission and policies.
  • Handle confidential files appropriately and ensure compliance with all legal and accreditation standards.
  • Assist in budget development and monitor expenses and revenues.
  • Contribute to communication and donor relations strategies to sustain funding.
  • Make routine administrative decisions and manage emergencies in the absence of other leaders.

Integrated Mission

  • Exemplify the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all responsibilities and personal conduct.
  • Engage in prayer, sharing the Gospel, and welcoming neighbors into the faith community.
  • Support congregational ministries through preaching or teaching as needed.
  • Prioritize and provide holistic, mission-driven programs and services.
  • Gather and analyze data to improve ministry effectiveness and ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Prepare reports and support program evaluation and asset-mapping.
  • Assist with community engagement activities like family nights and outreach events.
  • Interact meaningfully with guests and volunteers to promote the mission.
  • Chair the Kettle Campaign Planning Committee and oversee related staff and volunteers.

Relationship Management

Manage relationships with internal teams, external partners, community councils, and government offices.

Supervisory and Financial Responsibilities

Supervise key staff, support budget management, and oversee donations and expenditure processing.

Safety and Precautions

Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including COVID-19 precautions, WHMIS, crisis intervention, and food safety protocols.

Qualifications

BA in Business, Social Work, or related field; 1-3 years of social services experience involving program planning and implementation.

Skills

  • Project planning, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial management and database proficiency.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, bilingual skills in Mandarin and Cantonese are assets.

Compensation

The salary range is $47,962.59 to $71,943.89, based on experience and qualifications. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.
