The Manager of FP&A will be a financial leader of our Emissions Services division in North America. In this role, you will provide financial direction for the business unit to achieve its vision and mission strategic, driving financial performance and organizational value by developing and executing financial strategies. In addition to driving short-term initiatives and longer-term value creation, you play a key role in leading first-rate financial planning, forecasting and analysis and driving the necessary step changes for improved financial performance, profit margins, financial visibility for the operational teams, and decision support. As a leader within our finance organization, you will promote a culture of ownership and fiscal responsibility, partnership, and continually build the foundation of financial acumen throughout the organization.

This role can be remote, but our preference is for this role to be hybrid based in Pittsburgh, PA or Calgary, AB

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will operate as a strategic partner to the operational leaders of the business to provide financial guidance, business visibility through operational reporting, forecasting and decision support. This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including :

Provide day-to-day and strategic financial guidance of the business unit including financial budgeting, forecasting, ongoing analysis, profitability oversight

Support month end close activities, including business unit and project P&L review

Provide finance support and insight to business unit leadership (Directors / VP’s / SVP’s)

Partner with senior leadership to develop and drive the strategy to support global growth objectives.

Lead initiatives focused on standardizing processes, inputs, functionality and reporting for financial project management, partnering with internal support staff to drive system improvements.

Play a key role in financial diligence, integration and synergy achievement for all acquisitions within Emissions Services.

Lead the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts / models, incorporating booked backlog, pipeline and KPIs for submittal to the Finance team.

Annual CAPEX planning & management

Assist the FP&A team in developing forecasts / models, incorporating booked backlog & pipeline

Analyze and interpret business trends to identify opportunities to optimize financial performance

Identify and influence pricing strategies and job profitability improvements

Review actuals against budget / forecast with regional operations team to provide details for flux analysis

Liaise with peers in the broader MEG Finance, Corporate Accounting and Corporate Finance teams

Partner with the Corporate teams such as FP&A, Accounting, Business Services, Tax, HR & Legal to ensure both financial and legal compliance

Drive cost reductions in the business without unintended consequences to service delivery and strategy

Work closely with US counterparts towards standardization and continuous improvement of processes as business requirements evolve

Liaise with various operations’ team members to promote business alignment with company policies

Participate in cross-functional Finance and Operations teams programs to develop reporting / process changes required to improve business visibility / efficiency

Contribute to enhancing, implementing, and / or integrating financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems, as needed.

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

15+ years of Finance experience, preferably in FP&A / Finance Operations, 5+ years being with a publicly traded organization

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

Experience in the Environmental Industry a plus

Deep knowledge of operational processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, project accounting) in a service delivery company or a project centric organization. Time and materials, percentage of completion, and milestone revenue recognition contracts and billings

US GAAP knowledge, with a deep understanding of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition principals, expense cut-off and accruals

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook)

Experience with Workday a plus
