Base pay range

CA$60.00 / hr - CA$65.00 / hr

Our Client is currently seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting for a 24-month contract located in downtown Toronto. This role offers a competitive base salary, comprehensive benefits, and a pension plan, ensuring a solid foundation for professional development and stability.

The ideal candidate for this Manager, Financial Reporting will possess a CPA designation and hold a degree in accounting, business administration, or finance. The successful candidate will bring significant experience, particularly within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of external reporting requirements for public companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Prepare and analyze P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other financial data.
  • Liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders to support audit processes and compliance requirements.
  • Assess and implement new accounting standards while supporting M&A transactions and debt offerings.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, optimizing reporting quality and financial close timelines.
  • Provide leadership in coaching accounting staff, ensuring professional development and team efficiency.
  • Collaborate across departments to enhance financial controls, governance, and technology adoption.

Requirements

  • CPA designation with a degree in accounting, business administration, or finance.
  • Experience in financial reporting within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment (preferably in mining, energy, or natural resources).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS compliance, and external reporting for public companies.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Onestream, Workiva, or similar platforms is an asset.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work seamlessly across multiple teams and departments.
