- Multifamily real estate
The Role
As the Manager of Financial Reporting, you will oversee the preparation and distribution of financial reports for senior management and the board. You will collaborate with subsidiary accounting teams and external auditors to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute internal financial statements and reports
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Lead the annual budgeting process and reporting
- Maintain and enhance financial reporting processes, controls, and policies
- Research and implement new accounting standards for ASPE compliance
- Integrate financial reporting, controls, and policies for new investments
- Coordinate with external accountants for annual review engagements
- Oversee tax compliance, including CRA audits and complex tax initiatives
- Work closely with the CFO on strategic tax planning
What You Bring
- CPA designation with experience in public accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, consolidations, and business combinations
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP/ASPE
- Experience with foreign exchange translations and financial disclosures
- Knowledge of Canadian and US tax regulations (an asset)
- Proficiency in Caseware (an asset)
- Leadership experience and ability to develop teams
- Strong understanding of internal controls and best practices
