Job description

Housing NWT provides access to adequate, suitable and affordable housing through the provision of housing programs and services based on need.

Job Information

You will be responsible for leading the development of the Corporation's operations and capital budgets, totaling over $150 million. This position is crucial for ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources for the successful delivery of programs, services, and support. You will have direct supervision of a Financial Planning and Budget Analyst and casual staff.

This role offers a great opportunity to learn more about the North's business environment and economics. You will have the chance to collaborate with indigenous governments, the federal government, regional housing organizations, and contractors.

To succeed in this role, you should typically have a Degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting from Canada, along with a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (such as CA, CGA, CMA, CPA), and five (5) years of current, directly related management experience. The following equivalencies will also be considered:

  • Completion of any degree, with active enrolment in the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program and qualified to write the Common Final Examination (CFE), with six (6) years of applicable work experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience;
  • Completion of any degree, with active enrolment in the CPA program at the Professional Education Program (PEP) level, with eight (8) years of applicable work experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
