The City of Castlegar seeks a Manager of Finance for a term position until September 2026. The role involves overseeing finance operations and requires a Chartered Professional Accountant with a degree in accounting or commerce, along with managerial experience in a municipal context.

Based on experience and/or performance, the right candidate may be temporarily assigned to this management opportunity with the guarantee of the permanent Accountant position upon return of the incumbent on leave.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Technology, the Manager of Finance is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and directing the day-to day operations of the Finance division which includes accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, utility billing, property taxes, and cemetery.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be registered as a Chartered Professional Accountant in British Columbia with an undergraduate degree in accounting, commerce or a related discipline. The successful candidate will have 5-years progressive management training in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
