Okta Toronto is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Agent Access Policies sub-team within the Okta Secures AI group. You will guide a talented team, set goals, and collaborate with product and tech leads to define strategy and the roadmap for the team.
You will drive quality, security, and operational excellence, mentor engineers, and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture while delivering cross-functional projects that enable per-agent access control for enterprise resources.
Demonstrated experience managing technical projects from planning to execution, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CDStrategic mindset with experience contributing to product and technical roadmapsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teamsProven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, including performance management and career growth planningUnderstanding of web security principles, secure coding practices, and accessibility standards (WCAG)Prior hands-on technical background in building, scaling, or securing AI-powered applications and agentic platforms is a strong plusPrior experience as a Tech Lead or in an architecture-focused role is highly desirableA strong technical background in building scalable, secure, and high-performance web applicationsKnowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practice is a strong plusFamiliarity with server-side software architecture and frameworks including Java/C# and the Spring FrameworkKnowledge of IAM protocols (e.g., OAuth, OIDC, SAML) and identity management concepts is a strong plusPrior experience leading a team of engineers through a meaningful shift in ways of working around AI adoption, developer tooling, or engineering culture changeFamiliarity with emerging AI standards, agentic interaction protocols (such as Model Context Protocol / MCP), and AI identity governance frameworks2+ years managing engineering teams, balancing new feature/product development and maintaining existing features10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years of experience designing and building enterprise grade softwareBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
