Title: Manager of Data and Quality Improvement
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 25-35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional after hour flexibility is required)
Location: 962 Bloor St West
Supervisor: Executive Director
Compensation: $75,000 annually

Position Summary
The Manager of Data and Quality Improvement plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data excellence within the organization. This position is responsible for leading efforts in data management and quality improvement that align with the organization's mission and strategic objectives. The role involves close collaboration with staff at all levels to collect, analyze, interpret, and report on data to drive positive outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Data Management
- Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of organizational data, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security
- Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that align with the organization’s objectives
- Implement decision support tools and systems to enhance data accessibility and reliability across the organization
- Collaborate with departments to integrate data systems and improve data management processes
- Innovate and refine data collection methods, incorporating automated solutions where possible to enhance quality and efficiency
Quality Improvement
- Design and implement quality improvement initiatives aligning with the organization’s strategic priorities
- Identify opportunities to build organizational capacity for Quality Improvement (QI) through effective coaching, training, and development of tools and resources
- Lead efforts to ensure that QI initiatives are data-driven, sustainable, and contribute to the organization’s performance objectives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of QI initiatives, adjusting as needed to ensure continuous improvement
Performance Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics in collaboration with management to assess strategic and operational performance
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, and prepare regular performance reports for stakeholders
- Provide consultation and assistance in the interpretation and communication of performance results to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and actionable insights
- Conduct external research to establish benchmarks and improve organizational performance assessments
Leadership and Collaboration
- Fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization
- Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to ensure data and performance management initiatives support programmatic goals
- Function as a change leader, building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to engage them in data management, quality improvement, and performance management projects
- Represent the organization at sector forums related to data management, quality improvement, and performance management, staying informed of industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
Other Duties as Assigned
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, quality improvement, and/or performance management, preferably in a non-profit or public sector environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Quality Improvement, Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
- Certification in Quality Improvement or Lean Six Sigma is preferred
- Strong understanding of data governance, and performance measurement frameworks
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in data management and visualization tools and software (e.g., Power BI, Python, R)
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel is required along with strong proficiency MS Office Suite
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a capacity for conducting presentations and engaging diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with project management tools and techniques
- Experience in adult learning principles, group facilitation, and coaching techniques
- Knowledge of privacy regulations and ethical considerations related to data management
- Experience working in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
Working Conditions
This position works in the office and community. Sistering is a 24/7 operation, fast paced, intense environment. There may be the risk of exposure to potentially unpredictable behaviours and situations. Sistering is a pet friendly facility and as such, employees can expect to be in the proximity of animals.
