Who We Are

The Town of Altona is a progressive, community-focused local government serving a population of 4,390. Nestled in the heart of southern Manitoba, we offer a high quality of life, short commutes, meaningful work, and a strong sense of community.

Our team is small but dedicated, and we take pride in working collaboratively to serve our community well. As Altona continues to grow and evolve, we’re looking for a motivated professional to help move our organization forward and support our long-term goals.

About the Role

As Manager of Corporate Services, you will play a central role in advancing both the strategic goals and day-to-day operations of the municipality. This position combines organizational leadership with technical oversight, and is ideal for someone who enjoys improving systems, leading change, and building long-term value through thoughtful execution.

You will work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), colleagues across departments, and external partners to support Altona’s corporate planning, project implementation, and service delivery.

Full-Time | Salary Range: $82,824–$103,530 | Reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Recommend and implement organizational changes to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to corporate and strategic planning as a member of the senior management team.
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, and systems that raise municipal service standards.

Asset Management

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Altona’s asset management program, including software oversight, condition assessments, and lifecycle cost planning.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations that support sustainable infrastructure investment and budgeting.
  • Work with department leads to establish service level goals and performance metrics.

Corporate Services & Systems

  • Oversee key administrative and support functions, including records management, risk management, information technology, finance and general corporate services.
  • Liaise with IT service providers and support internal users to resolve issues and maintain effective systems.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and data security protocols.

Strategic Projects

  • Develop work plans, assess risk, and manage timelines and deliverables for corporate initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, Council, and committees.

Who You Are

You are a systems thinker who can turn complexity into clear action. You’re energized by the challenge of building smarter, more resilient organizations, and you understand how to balance people, process, and policy.

You might come from a municipal background—or maybe you’ve led operational improvements in the private sector and are ready to apply your skills in a role with community impact.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in public administration, business, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: asset management, corporate planning, process improvement, financial or IT systems, or administrative services.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across departments and disciplines.
  • A collaborative leadership style and an eye for operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • A CPA designation or eligibility to obtain is an asset.
  • Experience working in or with municipal governments is an asset, but not required.

Why Work With Us
