Job description

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and passionate about technology, continuously learning and understands how current trends could drive and improve how we deliver the services provided to our staff, citizens, businesses and visitors.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Manager of Corporate Information will be responsible for the development, integration, implementation and support of many Corporate and Departmental software solutions. You will provide the leadership and direction for this division managing a team of IT professionals focused on database management, development and application support. You will ensure the team is working cohesively and providing the required services and support within the timeframe commitments. In this role you will be expected to drive the use of technology within the organization and serve as the technology lead on new corporate application projects including product lifecycle management. You will engage departments to understand their business needs and provide strategic advice and direction regarding business solutions and integration opportunities. As part of the Information Technology management team you will work co-operatively to develop and support the goals and objectives of the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of five (5) years experience with progressive responsibility in Information Technology.
  • Previous municipal experience including standards, policy and procedure development, writing and evaluating RFPs, preparing reports and presentations to Committee and Council.
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with business intelligence / data analytics, application integration, and database technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and management experience.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated research, analytical, problem determination and resolution skills.
  • Superior facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Detailed oriented and organized with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with municipal software applications related to permitting, utility billing, and work order / asset management. Experience with enterprise solutions including ERP, CRM, GIS, and M365 Solutions (Sharepoint, Teams, OneDrive and Office Suite) would be beneficial.
  • Class G Ontario's driver's license in good standing during the course of employment.
  • IMS 200 Certification or equivalent (ICS200) is considered an asset. Subject to course availability, certification must be achieved within the first year of employment.
