Jewish Addiction Community Services (JACS) Toronto is seeking a dynamic, relationship-orientedManager of Community Engagement & Outreachto lead and expand our community-building efforts. This role focuses on deepening connections within the broader Jewish community, elevating the visibility of JACS, and developing meaningful engagement opportunities that foster belonging, purpose, and participation. This is not just a manager role—it’s an opportunity to help shape a more connected, compassionate, and culturally grounded recovery community.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement:

  • Serve as a key representative of JACS at community events, synagogues, schools, and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, partner agencies, and individuals looking to engage with JACS programming.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers across JACS initiatives.

Cultural and Community Programming:

  • Plan and execute events including:
  • Monthly Sober Shabbat Dinners
  • Seasonal gatherings and community-led celebrations
  • Lunch & Learns
  • Workshops

Outreach Strategy Implementation:

  • Collaborate with the team to identify gaps and opportunities in community outreach. Support the development of new programs and engagement strategies that align with our mission and increase reach and impact.

Relationship Stewardship:

  • Build relationships with individuals and families connected to JACS, offering supportive touchpoints and opportunities for continued involvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in community engagement, outreach, programming, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working in or with Jewish communities and familiarity with Jewish traditions, holidays, and values.
  • Strong understanding of JACS’ approach to addiction and mental health support, including our emphasis on community, cultural sensitivity, and reducing stigma.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, motivate others, and foster inclusive environments.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in alignment with program/event needs.

This position offers a competitive salary of $55,000 to $75,000 commensurate with education and experience. Health benefits and paid time off may also be included. The successful candidate will report to the President & CEO along with the Director of Operations and will be expected to work regularly at JACS’ office.
