Manager of Strategic Business AnalysisThe OrganizationArctic Gateway Group LP (AGG) is a majority-owned Indigenous and northern communities-owned company headquartered
on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Through its operating companies, Hudson Bay Railway (HBR), Hudson Bay Port
(HBPC) and the Churchill Marine Tank Farm (CMTF), AGG provides transportation and logistical support to a variety of
customers and industries. AGG’s mission is to improve lives of Indigenous and Northern Communities, and in the coming
years they are focused on linking northern Canada to the world, driving Canadian trade, security, and sovereignty.
Headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, AGG is geographically dispersed throughout Northern Manitoba with several remote
locations and employees.
The OpportunityAGG is seeking a highly analytical and articulate Manager of Strategic Business Analysis to support its executive team in
identifying new opportunities and shaping the future of the organization. This role is central to developing compelling
business cases, conducting financial and strategic analysis, and preparing board- and government-facing presentations that
help tell a story beyond just the numbers. This position will work closely with senior leadership to translate data into insight,
and insight into action — particularly in support of funding requests, market expansion, and cross-sector initiatives. The
ideal candidate will combine sharp analytical skills with strong storytelling ability to build cases that resonate with funders,
stakeholders, and decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities Partner with AGG’s executive team to research, develop, and articulate business cases for strategic initiatives, investment
proposals, and government funding applications.
Conduct opportunity assessments including market sizing, financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and risk evaluation.
Prepare compelling presentation materials that synthesize complex data into accessible, persuasive narratives tailored
for the board and government funders.
Support cross-functional collaboration by gathering inputs from operational teams and subject-matter experts to
inform strategic recommendations.
Build and maintain dashboards and models to track initiative performance and support continuous improvement.
Support the development and implementation of performance metrics tied to organizational goals.
Selection Criteria 4–6 years of relevant experience in business analysis, strategic planning, financial modeling, or data analytics, including
at least 2 years in a hands-on analytical role.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
Proven ability to prepare strategic presentations and communicate complex information clearly to senior leadership,
funders, and external stakeholders.
Strong storytelling, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect data to actionable insights.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in data visualization considered an asset.
Strong quantitative skills, including scenario planning, financial modeling, and analytical problem-solving.
Demonstrated success using data-driven insights to support organizational goals, drive growth, and develop strategic
recommendations from end-to-end.
Experience working with or in government agencies, particularly in the context of infrastructure or economic
development is preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with transportation, logistics, or northern development sectors is an asset. Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability and attention to detail
