The manager is responsible for the efficient and effective use of resources, as well as the quality of services provided. This position is also accountable for oversight and provision of outpatient medication distribution services on a regional basis. The manager is responsible for participation in committee work; financial management including budgeting; participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of Pharmacy Services strategic directions and objectives as well as process improvement projects; and human resources management including performance reviews and attendance management. In accordance with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador, this position may be required to function as the Pharmacist in Charge for the responsible site(s). Job QualificationsEducationGraduation from an approved School of Pharmacy is required.Completion of a hospital residency program is an asset.Master?s degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Business or a related field is an asset.ExperienceA minimum of five (5) years? experience within the last seven (7) in a hospital pharmacy environment with experience with managing projects of a complex nature.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities related to the pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical therapeutics, technology and informatics management, in the urban and rural healthcare settings (which include: acute care, community and long term care).Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to manage and direct continuous improvement and quality processes.Demonstrated strong leadership skills focused on supporting and empowering members of the team.Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills and innovation in problem solving and decision making.Demonstrated strong conflict management skills.Ability to work with a high degree of independence and initiative.Ability to manage change and continuous improvement.OtherCurrent registration/licensure with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador.A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.Please submit your resume/cover letter, which clearly demonstrates how you meet the required qualifications.
