The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned quality professional to take ownership of a well-established nuclear and commercial quality program within a complex, highly regulated manufacturing environment. The role offers the chance to lead a dedicated QA / QC team, shape and maintain critical compliance systems, and interface with both internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to lead the overall Quality Management initiatives for our client’s nuclear and commercial operations. This position oversees all aspects of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA / QC) programs related to nuclear manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and ISO-certified systems.

As the successful candidate, you will serve as the Quality Lead overseeing nuclear and commercial quality systems, ensuring compliance, certification, and performance excellence across all operations. You will take ownership of quality assurance and control programs, managing inspection processes, internal and external audits, and the development of QA / QC personnel. This very crucial role plays a critical part in maintaining both regulatory and ISO-compliant systems and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Serve as the primary quality leader overseeing both nuclear and commercial quality management systems.
  • Ensure organizational adherence to applicable industry codes, standards, and certifications governing nuclear operations and commercial quality systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during tendering and production stages to align on quality documentation and compliance expectations.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of QA / QC programs across the facility and supply chain.
  • Represent the organization during external audits, assessments, and customer inspections.
  • Manage and track internal audits, non-conformances, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.
  • Train and certify quality inspectors, lead auditors, and other QA personnel.
  • Lead and support quality-related improvement efforts to drive operational excellence and reduce non-conformances.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the quality team, ensuring high standards and professional growth.
  • Travel is minimal following the initial setup and transfer of nuclear quality programs.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing quality systems within a nuclear manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits, including supplier evaluations and compliance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of quality assurance standards and manufacturing codes relevant to nuclear and industrial fabrication.
  • Previous interaction with regulatory agencies or authorized inspection bodies is a strong asset.
  • Lead Auditor certification (or eligibility to achieve certification within one year of hire) preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface confidently across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline—or equivalent industry experience.
