Our client, a financial institution, is looking to hire a Manager, North America Procurement team for an initial 12-month contract with a high possibility of extension and conversion. This role is 3 days a week in the office in downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing Strategy and Execution: Lead cross-functional teams to manage low-to-medium value sourcing projects, including baseline and market analysis, strategy development, and contract negotiations.
- Influence business partner requirements to evaluate and select suppliers effectively.
- Contract Management: Read, understand, and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with legal, risk, and business objectives.
- Track contract expirations, manage renewals, and collaborate with legal and drafting teams to finalize documentation.
- Procurement Oversight: Provide oversight for sourcing resources and ensure contract archive accuracy.
- Apply sourcing principles and best practices in day-to-day operations.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with key business partners, project owners, and vendor managers to support business-led initiatives.
- Analytics and Reporting: Deliver supporting analytics to validate realized savings and provide insights to finance teams.
- Risk Mitigation: Ensure supplier contractual terms mitigate legal and business risks while adhering to procurement systems and tools.
Must-Have Skills:
- 6+ years of progressive business experience in global supply chain management and/or vendor management and/or contract management
- 6+ years of experience and expertise with supplier contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal and business risk
- 3+ years of IT Infrastructure contracts/sourcing experience
- 3+ years of extensive knowledge of IT software/SaaS solutions/vendor
- Solid knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
- Experience with sourcing and procurement systems and tools
- Solid analytical skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Graduate degree (business preferred)
- CPSM (supply chain certification)
- Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements relating to management of third-party outsourcing in the jurisdictions in which Manulife operates
- Knowledge of financial, actuarial and insurance systems
- Familiar with Manulife's business operations, strategies and financial environment.
