Job summary

RBC is seeking a seasoned Fund Accounting Operations Manager to lead a team delivering daily NAVs for mutual funds from our Toronto center. You will oversee distributions, meet SLAs, and drive efficiency across departments while guiding project implementations and process improvements.

With 5+ years in fund accounting leadership, you will shape practices, manage resources during fund launches or mergers, and mentor staff toward excellence in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Must-have degree in Accounting or Finance and extensive fund valuations experience.
• 5+ years of managerial experience specifically within a fund accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of the fund industry, products, and financial markets.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Investment Funds.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Fund Accounting System knowledge (MPower).
• Nice-to-have designation (CFA).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Fund Accountants delivering timely and accurate daily NAVs for a group of mutual funds.
• Deliver timely and accurate year-end and month-end distributions.
• Ensure all deadlines and SLAs are met.
• Monitor the team quality and performance.
• Enhance productivity and effective relationships with other departments.
• Minimize NAV discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action.
• Implement projects including new fund launches and fund mergers.
• Ensure resources are effectively managed to deal with changes in fund numbers.
• Support the introduction of new technology and operational processes to reduce cost and increase quality.
• Run client/fund event planning meetings.
• Complete annual & semi-annual performance reviews for staff.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• Degree or diploma in an Accounting or Finance related field
• Extensive experience in fund valuations
• 5+ years of managerial experience specifically within a fund accounting environment
• Strong knowledge of the fund industry, products, and financial markets
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Investment Funds
• Good technical knowledge of calculating Net Asset Value
• Knowledge of Accounting standards
• Strong Analytical skills, ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines, and exceptional problem-solving abilities
• Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
• Fund Accounting System knowledge (MPower)

Nice-to-have:

• Accounting designation or other professional designation (CFA)
