Role Responsibilities:

People Processes:

  • Acts as coach and mentor and providing technical and facilitation training to supervisory and file handling staff
  • Works with team to monitor performance and achievement of SLAs, KPI, audit initiatives and interim billing targets
  • Weekly review of new claim files at 60/120/180 days
  • Review of deductible collection process/implementation of same
  • Review of new contracts/ guidelines/training with team as required
  • Review and training of regulatory requirements
  • Reinforcement of Claim Data Integrity
  • Recruiting of new employees
  • Assists Head of Claims/ Head of Operations as required
  • Client facing where required
  • Manages small amount of own claim files

Claims Management of a Reduced Pending:

  • Works independently to examine or direct complex liability claim handling.
  • Assembles information for the purposes of evaluating the scope of the loss and determining appropriate coverage and indemnification to effectively manage claim.
  • Produces complex reports with little to no direction.
  • Directs Field Adjusters on assignment investigations.
  • Settles claims directly with claimants or their representatives.
  • Administers claim payments/settlements through trust accounts.
  • Liaises with all stakeholders to ensure client’s needs are met.
  • Seeks advice from manager, as necessary, in a collaborative manner.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University Degree/College Diploma or combination of education and equivalent business experience
  • Working towards CIP designation
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience Liability, Auto, and Bodily Injury Adjusting including demonstrated people leadership in a commercial claims environment
  • Multi-line adjusting experience would be an asset.
  • Experience dealing with Lloyd’s would be an asset.
  • Individual must demonstrate the ability to direct adjusters of all levels and work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external associates, written and oral communication skills
  • A positive, “can do” attitude and customer service approach ensuring all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in identifying and implementing solutions
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced and demanding environment
